Valor Coalition Addresses Allegations Against Former Board Member

Edina, MN – May 15, 2025 — Valor Coalition, a non-profit organization committed to supporting the mental health and well-being of veterans and first responders, has taken swift and decisive action following criminal charges filed against one of its founding board members.

The individual has been charged with criminal sexual assault. While we respect the legal principle of presumed innocence, Valor Coalition has removed the individual from the board and ended all association with them. This action reflects our commitment to uphold the highest ethical standards and protect the integrity of our mission.

Our upcoming event, Heroes on the Hill, remains a vital initiative focused on heroes helping heroes. The event brings together veterans, first responders, and community members to raise awareness and funding for mental health services tailored to those who have served. We remain steadfast in our dedication to this cause and to the individuals and families we support.

We appreciate the continued trust and support of our community as we move forward with transparency and resolve.

Heroes on the Hill 2025: A Day of Strength, Connection, and Impact

On Saturday, September 6, participants gathered at Buck Hill Ski Resort for the second annual Heroes on the Hill—a powerful day of movement, community, and purpose. Veterans, first responders, families, and supporters came together to push physical limits, honor service, and raise critical funds for mental health support.

This year’s event saw goals achieved that were only ideas a year ago. Teams showed up with heart and grit, embracing the challenge and the mission. From sunrise to sunset, the hill was alive with energy, camaraderie, and stories of resilience.

Thanks to everyone’s efforts, over $20,000 was raised to benefit mental health services for first responders and veterans. The event also received strong media coverage, helping amplify the message of healing through movement and connection.

“We saw people dig deep—not just physically, but emotionally,” said Julie Pagano, Founding Board Member. “This event is about showing up for each other, and that’s exactly what happened.”

Looking ahead, Heroes on the Hill 2026 is already on the calendar for Saturday, September 12. With early interest and momentum building, next year promises to be even bigger. Thank you to everyone who made Heroes on the Hill 2025 unforgettable. You are the reason this movement matters.
